HOW TO PLAY DOMINOES
(CUT-THROAT STYLE)

  1. The main objective of dominoes is to be the first to score 150 points. This is achieved by 1) creating domino combinations that equal multiples of five or 2) by playing all their dominoes before your three opponents and scoring points based on the remaining dominoes their three opponents have in hand. However, to begin scoring, each player must create a domino combination equaling at least ten points or have at least ten points from the remaining dominoes their opponents have in hand.

  2. To begin playing, place all dominoes (28 in total) face-down on the table and wash/mix them around. The four players participating must draw one domino each to determine seating position. The player with the highest domino will choose the seat of their liking and the remaining players will sit in order of descending bone value clockwise from the person who chose the highest domino.

  3. Once players are seated in position, all dominoes should be rewashed/mixed around again face-down with each player selecting seven dominoes thereafter.

  4. The player with the highest double/spinner (six-six) must play that domino first and is responsible for keeping score throughout the entirety of the game. The first double/spinner played during each round is the only domino that can be played off of four sides.

  5. The player to the left of the person who previously played the highest double/spinner domino must then place a matching domino equaling the number. For example, since the first player started the game with the double six, the next player must play a domino that has a six on it. Doubles are placed perpendicular to other dominoes when being played. In the likelihood that the player to the left does not have a domino with a matching number, they must pass and the player subsequent player to their left must play a matching domino.

  6. The player who completes this round by playing all their dominoes first will be the first to start the next round and can play any domino of their choosing. All dominoes should be washed/mixed around after each round by the person to the right of the person who is starting the next round.

  7. At the beginning of each round, a player must call for a rewash of all dominoes if they holding 4 doubles in hand (doubles rule subject to change based on table’s discretion). However, they will need to call for the rewash before the second person has played their domino. If two players have played their dominoes, the player with four doubles must keep their hand for the round.

  8. In the event of a locked game, because neither of the four players can play a domino, the player with the lowest number of total points in their hand receives the points in their opponents’ hands. The dominoes are then washed and the player holding the double six spinner plays first in the next round.

  9. If a wrong domino is played all points of the round stay, but the players must end the round and re-wash the dominoes. The person on domino remains as first to play unless they are the player who committed the error. If that is the case, all dominoes must be re-washed and the player with double-six will be on domino.

  10. When the game is over and one player has scored 150 points, all four players should tally their game score for league records. The winning player will be awarded a win, while their three opponents will each be awarded a loss.
